2000 Federal Census
The United States Census is a decennial census mandated by the United States Constitution. The population is enumerated every 10 years and the results are used to allocate Congressional seats (congressional apportionment), electoral votes, and government program funding. Some states or local jurisdictions also conduct local censuses.

The Access Project
The Access Project has served as a resource center for local communities working to improve health and healthcare access since 1998 and is a program of Third Sector New England. The Access Project is a research affiliate of the Schneider Institute for Health Policy at Brandeis University. The Schneider Institute is part of Brandeis' Heller School for Social Policy and Management.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation
In 2001, BCBSMA created a charitable organization - the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation - as a contemporary expression of its historic commitment to those in need of dependable access to health care. The mission of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation is to expand access to health care. Through grants and policy initiatives, the Foundation works with public and private organizations to broaden health coverage and reduce barriers to care. The Foundation focuses on developing measurable and sustainable solutions that benefit uninsured, vulnerable and low-income individuals and families in the Commonwealth.

Boston Private Industry Council
The Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) is a public-private partnership that connects business, the Boston Public Schools, higher education, government, labor, and community organizations to create innovative workforce and education solutions. The PIC is the connection between education and workforce, between school and career, and between classroom and the workplace. PIC initiatives thrive on the synergy created when business and community needs overlap. The result is a win-win situation: Businesses develop the workforce they need and Boston residents gain access to career opportunities and higher incomes.

Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood
Campaign For A Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC) is a national coalition of health care professionals, educators, advocacy groups and concerned parents who counter the harmful effects of marketing to children through action, advocacy, education, research, and collaboration. CCFC is headquartered at the Judge Baker Children’s Center in Boston.

Center for Community Health, Education, Research and Service
The Center for Community Health, Education, Research and Service (CCHERS) is a unique academic/community partnership established in 1991 committed to the wholesale effort to influence and change health professions education, improve health care delivery, and promote health systems change.  Its goal is to integrate education, service and research to eliminate persistent disparities in health of racial and ethnic minorities by ensuring health access, equity and justice.

Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulates all laboratory testing (except research) performed on humans in the U.S. through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). The objective of the CLIA program is to ensure quality laboratory testing. Although all clinical laboratories must be properly certified to receive Medicare or Medicaid payments, CLIA has no direct Medicare or Medicaid program responsibilities.

Community Catalyst
Community Catalyst is a national advocacy organization that builds consumer and community participation in the shaping of our health system to ensure quality, affordable healthcare for all.  They believe that health care is a basic human right and that all people--including children, the poor, the elderly, minority communities, and others who are vulnerable--should have access to quality health care.  They work in partnership with consumer and community groups around the country to promote health care justice. For ten years, the Community Catalyst staff of experienced policy analysts, attorneys, organizers, and organizational development specialists have been advocating on behalf of consumers in both small communities as well as in high profile court cases.

MassBenchmarks
The UMass Donahue Institute's Economic and Public Policy Research unit works with faculty on all five campuses to produce high-level economic and public policy research. The results of this research are disseminated as free-standing research reports and through MassBenchmarks, the journal of the Massachusetts economy published in cooperation with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Massachusetts Family Voices
MA Family Voices Mass Family Voices at the Federation for Children with Special Needs is a parent-run, state chapter of Family Voices, a national grassroots network of families, friends and professional partners brought together by a common concern for children and youth with special health care needs.

Massachusetts General Hospital - Disparities Solution Center
The Disparities Solutions Center (Center) is dedicated to the development and implementation of strategies that advance policy and practice to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in health care. The Center serves as a national, regional, and local resource for hospitals, physician practices, community health centers, school-based health centers, medical schools, other health professions schools, health plans and insurers, consumer organizations, state and local governments, foundations, and other key health care stakeholders.

Massachusetts Health Data Consortium
The Massachusetts Health Data Consortium (Consortium) was founded in 1978 by the state's major public and private health care organizations. They recognized the need for a neutral agency, an "honest broker," independent of special interests, to collect, analyze and disseminate health care information. The Consortium's information products, services and special projects support health policy development, technology planning and implementation, and improved decision making in the allocation and financing of health care.
